ABOUT THE AMERICAN TOBACCO TRAIL 10 MILER
The American Tobacco Trail 10 Miler was created in 2007 to raise awareness and support for the growing trail system throughout the Triangle. It has been designated as the RRCA North Carolina State Championship 10 Mile Event each year beginning in 2008.
Held in the early fall, the race is a perfect distance for those tapering for a fall marathon or those trying out a new race distance. Proceeds from these races will help American Tobacco Trail development and maintenance through Triangle Rails to Trails Conservancy. Do not miss this rare opportunity to race on one of the finest, most beautiful courses in the Triangle!

ABOUT THE AMERICAN TOBACCO TRAIL AND TRIANGLE RAILS TO TRAILS CONSERVANCY
The Triangle Rails to Trails Conservancy (TRTC) was founded in 1989 to preserve local abandoned railroad corridors for future transportation and recreational trails. The American Tobacco Trail (ATT) is TRTC’s most ambitious project, and runs through Durham, Wake, and Chatham counties. Approximately 22 miles of trail are currently open on the ATT for recreational use, and a total of 30 miles are planned all together. TRTC works with local and state governmental officials, corporate advisors, and volunteers to plan and raise support for the development of the ATT.
