An August Series
Tradition!

Why participate?

Because it's fun to run with your fellow club members in the excessive heat and humidity over hilly terrain.

Once again we will be sponsored by Inside-Out Sports and will have weekly prize drawings. This year will also feature a weekly winner of the "Ultraman Joey" award. Details of how you can win this special award will be announced before the beginning of each run. These are FREE runs, however we are requesting donations to help offset expenses.

Course description - The run starts at 6:30pm and is held on the Graylyn and the North Turkey Creek bike and bridle trails (no asphalt). From Camp Sycamore turn right on Graylyn Trail. Turn left onto North Turkey Creek Trail. After reaching the designated turn-around points on Turkey Creek Trail, just re-trace your steps back to Camp Sycamore. Click HERE for a course map. It is scenic and plenty of shade. The routes are challenging, so pace yourself accordingly. The distances (see map) have been measured using a bike but are not certified. Electronic timing will be available, but not recorded (check your time on the clock when you finish). Water will be available approximately two miles out on the course for the longer runs. You will pass this same water stop on your return trip. However, we still encourage you to carry water (and bug spray)

All of the runs start at Camp Sycamore. Plenty of parking is available.
To get to Camp Sycamore, use the main entrance to Umstead Park on US70. Follow the road past the visitors center and turn left. Go about a 100 yards and turn right onto the bike & bridal trail. Take the first left to Camp Sycamore (B&B trail head). Click here for map and follow the green line

There is no pre-registration -- just sign in when you arrive

There will be a post-run celebration on Thursday, August 23rd. Location is TBA; so watch this site for details.

Volunteers are needed to assist with setting up the water stop and other logistics.
