History of NCRC

This page is a work in progress. Initially, we have a club history compiled in 2017 by Joe Lugiano, NCRC's first president. From that history, we compiled a list of all NCRC presidents. NCRC was founded by Tom Phillips in 1979 but did not have a president until 1981. Thanks to Joe, we also have lists of special volunteer recognition and charter members from 1979.

Joe died in his sleep on Dec. 3, 2024. Below are an obituary of Joe and a special memory of him, both of which were published in the NCRC bimonthly newsletter.
