North Carolina Roadrunners Club

Come Run With Us

Welcome to NCRC
Welcome to the North Carolina Roadrunners Club, commonly known as NCRC! We're a nonprofit organization that's a member club of the Road Runners Club of America, one of 23 RRCA clubs in North Carolina. We're based in Raleigh, where our club began in 1979 (see the About NCRC tab for more details). NCRC is also a member club of USA Track & Field. NCRC hosts three races each year, ranging in length from 5K to half-marathon, and holds two annual fund-raising events (see the NCRC Races/Events tab for details). Benefits of becoming a club member include race and in-store discounts, a bimonthly online newsletter, and a member rewards program. We also hold social runs and other events throughout the year (see the Calendar tab). All runners and walkers are welcome to join us! If you're new to the Triangle, check out Triangle Running Websites under the Resources tab.
October membership special: $10 credit for new members
For the third straight year, NCRC is having a membership special during the month of October. We'll be doing it a little differently this year. NEW MEMBERS who join Oct. 1-31 will receive a $10 credit within 24 hours of joining NCRC for our usual rate of $25 a year for an individual membership or $35 for a family membership. This special does not apply to those whose membership has lapsed and only applies for the first year of membership. Click on the "JOIN" button on this page to sign up.

Membership entitles you to members-only discounts for NCRC races (including our Oct. 28 ATT 10-Miler and 4-Miler) and other running-related discounts. Those discounts appear on the Club Deals page of this website (club members can access discount codes by clicking on "Claim offer"). NCRC is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization that supports running, fitness, and community service. For more details about the club, go to the About NCRC page on this website. Our main events are three NCRC races each year. We welcome all runners AND walkers.

Watch this website (ncroadrunners.org) for details on our upcoming events. We hope you'll join us. If you have any questions, email info@ncroadrunners.org

Raleigh Galloway Pancakes Run — Saturday
NCRC has traditionally had one annual joint run with the Raleigh Galloway training program. This year, we scheduled two. Due to inclement weather, the planned Sept. 23 joint run with Raleigh Galloway from the Fleet Feet store on Six Forks Road in north Raleigh was canceled. The annual Galloway pancakes run, another joint run for NCRC, will take place Saturday at Inside-Out in Cary (check the Calendar listing on this website for details). The Galloway program offers a run/walk structure for your weekly long group runs. These joint runs offer you a chance to check out their program and ask any questions you might have. NCRC has long had a close partnership with Raleigh Galloway, and many of us have participated in the Galloway program.

October NCRC Winery Run — Saturday, Oct. 21
Join us for a new NCRC fall tradition (now in its second year) -- the October winery run in Apex. The Cloer Family Vineyards (8624 Castleberry Road in Apex) opens at 11 a.m. on Saturday, so we'll meet at 10 a.m. on Oct. 21 at the Wimberly Trailhead of the American Tobacco Trail (1017 Wimberly Road in Apex) for our run or walk on the ATT. You can start earlier for additional mileage. Afterward, we'll head over to the vineyards and take a group photo at 11:15 before enjoying a picnic on the grounds. RSVP by Oct. 18 (using the link below to go to the Calendar listing for the event) to receive a free tasting flight of wine or a glass of wine or muscadine grape juice, courtesy of NCRC. Bring picnic food to share, or you can buy food at the winery or from a service like Uber Eats.

Join us for the third and final NCRC race of 2023: the ATT 10-Miler and 4-miler on Oct. 28. This year marks the 16th running of this fall race on the American Tobacco Trail. The start and finish of both the 10-mile and 4-mile courses are at the White Oak Church Road trailhead with the out-and-back courses south of the trailhead. Proceeds from the race benefit the Triangle Rails to Trails Conservancy. If you're unable to run the race, please help as a volunteer!
