04/22/2023 -  Lots of Great Photos on the First Day!

{FirstName},
I've been very impressed with the photos so far. I hope all of you take a few minutes every day to see what everyone is posting in the galleries. My favorite part of this event is seeing the various takes on each category.

I'll just make one reminder: For this event, none of the photos should be taken at your residence. Thankfully, no one submitted a photo from their bird feeder today. Don't worry if you haven't submitted any photos yet. There's no requirement to submit photos every day. The key issue is to post at least one photo in at least seven of the categories by the end of the event. You can post as many photos as you'd like on as many days as fits into your schedule.

Tomorrow's new gallery to open is Four-Legged Friends or Foes. The Sign of Spring, Public Park, and Bird Watch galleries will remain open for posting. One reminder about Four-Legged Friends or Foes: These can't be indoor photos (sorry, cat lovers). The photos can be representations of four-legged animals instead of actual animals. If you're a UNC fan looking for a Four-Legged Foes photo, I know at least one place in Raleigh where you can find a Wolfpack. This might also apply to other sports teams (as long as the mascots are four-legged).

I know of only one technical glitch so far. Navigation isn't working to the second page of the Bird Watch gallery. Our tech support is aware of the issue and will address it tomorrow. Fortunately, the problem hasn't affected the other galleries. If you have any technical problems, you should contact help@racereach.com. I'm the person to contact with any questions about the event itself and the rules (president@ncroadrunners.org).

I'll also point out that the photos you'll see this week on the homepage of the event website will all be photos that have been submitted for this year's event. They'll get rotated a few times each day with an emphasis on the gallery that's opening for the day. Starting tomorrow, I'll also start sharing some of the photos on Instagram to the #ncrcsspringforth hashtag.
