Spring Forth Starts at 12:01 AM Saturday

The first photo galleries for NCRC's Spring Forth will open at 12:01 a.m. Saturday. You don't have to start that early, but you can if you want to. There's no minimum or maximum number of photos to post each day, and you can even go a day or more without posting any photos. The key number to post is seven. I hope everyone can post photos in at least seven of the 10 galleries, including Sign of Spring, which is mandatory. That qualifies you for our prize drawing on March 27. Of course, you're welcome to post as many photos as you'd like in all 10 categories.
Take a look at the participants list on the event website. If you know of someone else who would like to participate or who you would like to join us in participating, they can still register until 11:59 p.m. tonight. There will be no late registration tomorrow. I was hoping for more participation, but at least now there is a great chance for participants to win more than one prize. The prizes are completely random. There is no judging for photo quality or originality. All prizes have been donated by the sponsors listed below.
I hope the posting process will be self-explanatory but feel free to ask questions. You have some broad leeway with photos, but I reserve the right to delete photos that do not meet our guidelines. The main rules are:
- Take your photos outdoors.
- Don't take photos of your house or yard.
- Post your own photos; they must be shareable (no copyrights).
- Photos should be taken recently.
- Respect people's privacy and private property.
- Photos should be tasteful and nonpolitical.
- Follow the guidelines mentioned for each category, such as no pets or bird feeders in the Wildlife category.
The posting schedule is listed below. Sign of Spring and Public Park photos can be posted on any day (March 19-26). The other galleries will each be open for three days, except for the last two, Twisted Tree(s) and Wildlife. All 10 galleries will be open on March 26. Each night, I'll send a reminder about which galleries will be open the next day. On the first day, Greenway or Marked Trail should be more than a path or sidewalk. It should be part of a greenway or trail. Sign of Spring is most likely a flower, but it can be any other sign of spring's arrival. Public Park must be a place that's open to anyone, not just members.
- March 19: Sign of Spring, Public Park, and Greenway or Marked Trail
- March 20: Sign of Spring, Public Park, Greenway or Marked Trail, and Kid(s) at Play
- March 21: Sign of Spring, Public Park, Greenway or Marked Trail, Kid(s) at Play, and Lake or Pond
- March 22: Sign of Spring, Public Park, Kid(s) at Play, Lake or Pond, and Outdoor Art
- March 23: Sign of Spring, Public Park, Lake or Pond, Outdoor Art, and Pedestrian Bridge
- March 24: Sign of Spring, Public Park, Outdoor Art, Pedestrian Bridge, and Puffy Cloud(s)
- March 25: Sign of Spring, Public Park, Pedestrian Bridge, Puffy Cloud(s), and Twisted Tree(s)
- March 26: All 10 galleries will be open, including Wildlife.
