Thanks for registering for the 2024 edition of NCRC's Spring Forth! The posting of photos starts tomorrow. This year, we're going to leave registration open an extra day, until 6 p.m. Saturday. If you know someone who might be interested in registering, you can show them the website (ncrcsspringforth.com) tomorrow with photos in some of the galleries.
Most of you have done this event before. Not much has changed this year. We did add a team entry option, but no one has used it. The main difference will be the prizes. We added several more non-running prizes and dropped most of the free race entries and running store gift cards. We were hoping to appeal more to non-runners. It's more variety, as you can tell from the gift donors on this email. Also, one of the photo categories changed: Shadow Friends to Two or More of Us.
For the newbies, we hope the rules and procedures are easy to follow. You upload photos by either clicking on the Submit Photos tab on the website or the Enter Your Virtual Results box, then filling out the form. The main rules are to take photos outdoors and not at your residence. They should be your photos, taken recently. Photos thatdon't meet the guidelines or fit the categories will be removed.
I hope everyone has fun with this. Don't overthink it. It's a great chance to explore a local park that you haven't been to before or been to in a while. I'll be sending emails to you every night of the event. For the first day (Saturday), you can post photos in the Sign of Spring, Public Park, and/or Bird Watch galleries. One restriction on Bird Watch photos: Photos from your birdfeeder won't be allowed. You don't have to post photos every day, and there's no limit on the number of photos you can post.
