Let us know immediately (by submitting an RSVP on the Calendar entry for the kickoff on the ncroadrunners.org website) if you're interested in attending a kickoff event on April 21 at Lake Lynn Park. If there's insufficient interest in a kickoff, that part of NCRC's Spring Forth will be canceled. I'll send a text alert if the kickoff is canceled.
I want to again thank everyone for registering, including those who have signed up since my last email. Please remind your friends and family members that the registration deadline is 11:59 p.m. on April 21. Registration is required to participate and to win one of the 29 prizes (prize donors are listed below) that we have available. Prizes will be awarded randomly, not based on the quality of the photos.
You can begin taking your photos at any point. Only the posting must wait until the week of April 22-29. Please review the How It Works page on ncrcsspringforth.com for the basics of how this challenge works. The main rules are that the photos must be original (taken by the participant or someone partnering with the participant), recent (not last summer's vacation photos), and taken outdoors and not at your residence (no backyard bird feeder photos). Photos that don't meet our criteria will be deleted and won't be counted toward meeting the challenge.
This year, I'd like to make a splash with our photos on Instagram. You must post your photos on ncrcsspringforth.com to get credit for the challenge. I also encourage participants to post their photos on Instagram using the #ncrcsspringforth hashtag. This is not a requirement, but I think it will boost the visibility and fun of this event. Also feel free to add hashtags for the photo categories, NCRC, Girls on the Run of the Triangle, the City of Oaks Foundation, and any others that you would like to include.
