04/21/2023 -  Spring Forth Starts with Posting Today

{FirstName},

Welcome to NCRC's Spring Forth for 2023. Glad to have some new participants this year along with our regulars.

Starting at midnight, you can start submitting your photos to the ncrcsspringforth.com website. You must upload your photos there to get credit for the photo challenge. You can use either the Submit Photos tab or the Enter Your Virtual Results link to access the photo form. Each day during the event week, a new gallery will open for posting. The first day starts with the Sign of Spring, Public Park, and Bird Watch galleries. The order for the other galleries to open is Four-Legged Friends or Foes (Sunday), Greenway or Marked Trail (Monday), Leafy Treasures (Tuesday), Nature's Alphabet (Wednesday), Outdoor Art (Thursday), Shadow Friends (Friday), and Water Wonders (April 29). Thanks to Girls of the Run of the Triangle, one of our two beneficiaries, for help with the gallery names.

You can post as many photos as you'd like in each category. To meet the challenge, you must post at least one photo in at least seven categories. If you post one photo in all 10 categories, you become eligible for one of our four special grand prizes. The main rules are that the photos must be taken outdoors, NOT be taken at your residence, and be taken by yourself or someone participating with you. You have some wide latitude with the categories, but inappropriate or ineligible photos may be deleted at my discretion. Deleted photos will not earn credit in the challenge. In posting your photos, you must use the same email address that you registered with.

Each night, you'll receive an email like this one recapping any issues that may have arisen during the day and looking ahead to the next day. One warning about the Bird Watch category: Bird feeder photos will be deleted (no photos at your residence). The best place to find birds for photos is a lake or pond.

Hope you all have fun with Spring Forth! In addition to posting your photos on the event website, I encourage you to also post them on Facebook and Instagram (I set up a #ncrcsspringforth there for our photos). If you have any questions, you can email me (Jack) at president@ncroadrunners.org.
