03/19/2022 -  Day 2: Kid(s) at Play

{FirstName},

The first-day photos are looking great! Don't worry if you don't have time to post any photos today. You can post as many photos as you'd like on each day of the event. The only limitation is which galleries will be open that particular day. Be sure to take advantage of nice weekend weather to take many, if not most, of your photos.

I did leave out something important in last night's email. While I can answer any questions related to the event and its guidelines (president@ncroadrunners.org), for any technical or software issues, you'll need to contact Dave Babson of Race Reach. He's very helpful and responsive. Be prepared to send him a screenshot of your issue. Also, while I'll be checking my email regularly, I will be running the Tobacco Road Half Marathon tomorrow morning, so I'm not likely to respond until late morning or early afternoon tomorrow.

For those who did Spring Forth last year, one of the biggest changes this year is that I'm not allowing photos from your house or yard. Those photos will be deleted. The idea is to venture out for your photos. It is OK to submit photos from your neighborhood. Probably the best place to take photos will be a public park and/or a greenway.

For tomorrow, the theme is Kid(s) at Play. If you don't have kids or know kids, this might be the most challenging category. Please respect people's privacy. I took my photo in this category from a distance, so the kid is not recognizable. You might also watch for a group activity, such as a baseball or softball game. Let's say kids should be 18 and under. The Greenway or Marked Trail gallery will remain open tomorrow, along with Sign of Spring and Public Park. The open galleries will also be listed on the website's homepage each day. The homepage photos will be rotated a couple of times each day, with one photo from that day's theme and the other either from Sign of Spring or Public Park.

Feel free to post any of your Spring Forth photos on Facebook, Instagram, or any other social media. Thanks for participating!

Jack
