Come Run With Us
ATT 10-Miler and 4-Miler — Saturday, Oct. 23
The American Tobacco Trail 10-Miler and 4-Miler is back this fall! The race starts and ends at the White Oak Church parking lot in Apex and is entirely on the greenway. There are few races of this distance, so this is a great chance to set a personal record. The races begin with the women's start at 8:50 a.m., followed by the men's start at 8:58 and the 4-Miler at 9:10. Proceeds benefit ATT trail development and maintenance through the Triangle Rails to Trails Conservancy.

Storage Unit Cleanup Day — Saturday, Oct. 16
The NCRC storage unit is in dire need of cleaning and organizing, and we need your help!  The plan is to take everything out, throw away/donate old and no longer used items, then put everything back in an organized fashion. You will get double volunteer hours (i.e., work for one hour and get two hours of volunteer service credit). The available hours are 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 16 at North Raleigh Personal Storage at 5508 Otters Run Court. Please email Elizabeth Werner (eswerner3300@yahoo.com) if you want to help and tell her your desired time slot. You can work the entire three-hour shift or just one or two hours of it. Any help we get will be greatly appreciated.  See you on Saturday, October 16!!
NCRC September Social Runs Return to North Hills

NCRC Thursday social runs will return to North Hills in September. Our weekly social runs will meet at 6:30 p.m. at Omega Sports on 4120 Main in North Hills (next to The Commons). Walkers and runners (members and guests) are welcome! You'll have a chance to win door prizes. Raleigh running legend Barbara Latta will be the NCRC host this month!

This year, we will *not* have a communal water jug, so please bring your own hydration! All paces, all faces welcome, so bring a friend!

Adopt-a-Highway for 3Q 2021 — Saturday, Sept. 25

Let’s talk trash — pickin’ up trash, that is! For almost 20 years, the North Carolina Roadrunners Club has been keeping clean the 1-mile stretch of Millbrook Road in Raleigh going from Shelley Lake to Creedmoor Road. Come join other volunteers for a fun, social morning! It’s some of the easiest NCRC volunteer points you can earn! Fashion-trending safety vests, bags, gloves, and post-pickup refreshments provided! (NCDOT requires that volunteers must be at least 12 years old and that children 12-17 be supervised by an adult at least 21 years old.) We will meet in the parking lot at the Sertoma Arts Center / Shelley Lake at 9:00 a.m. to get organized!

It’s no problem staying socially distant while picking up trash! And the sunshine and time outside will be good for you! Please bring a face mask or bandana just in case it makes others feel more comfortable — and it may come in handy if you find trash that stinks!

Usually there are some juices, coffee and snacks afterwards back at the Sertoma Arts Center / Shelley Lake parking lot after the cleanup! Stick around and socialize if you can!
