October Membership Special: $10 off for new members
NCRC has a special treat for October! For this month only, new members can join the club for $15 a year for an individual membership or $25 a year for a family membership. That's $10 off of both the individual and family membership rates. Click on "Join" on  this page to sign up and use the discount code "Octnew." Returning members are encouraged to instead use the code "Octreturn" for the same discount. This discounted rate can be applied only for one year's membership.

Membership entitles you to discounts for NCRC races and a 10% discount at Capital RunWalk. NCRC is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization. We are excited to have our ATT 10-Miler and 4-Miler coming back on Oct. 23. If you join NCRC now and haven't already registered for the race, we'll send you the club discount code for 10% off the registration fee. We also expect the full return next year of our Run for the Roses 5K and NCRC Classic Half Marathon and 10K. Our upcoming events include a storage shed cleanup day on Oct. 16, a Halloween social run, a Thanksgiving Friday social run, a Christmas lights social run, a Christmas potluck, and a December Adopt-A-Highway volunteer event. We have quarterly meetings with guest speakers, including an annual picnic. Members also receive a bimontly online newsletter and can participate in a "1000 Mile Club" that recognizes members who run and/or walk 1,000 miles in a year. NCRC also sponsors a Snoopy's hotdog social run in February and added a Spring Forth photo-sharing event in March.

Race volunteers needed! — Saturday, Oct. 23
The American Tobacco Trail 10-Miler and 4-Miler is back this fall! If you're unable to run the race, we can certainly use your help as a volunteer. You can even volunteer for some positions and also run the race. The race starts and ends at the White Oak Church parking lot in Apex and is entirely on the greenway. There are few races of this distance, so this is a great chance to set a personal record. The races begin with the women's start at 8:50 a.m., followed by the men's start at 8:58 and the 4-Miler at 9:10. Proceeds benefit ATT trail development and maintenance through the Triangle Rails to Trails Conservancy.

Oakwood Halloween Run — Thursday, Oct. 28
Join us for a spooky social run on Thursday, Oct. 28! We'll start at 6 p.m. from State of Beer on Hillsborough Street in downtown Raleigh. From there, we'll run or walk over to the Oakwood neighborhood to see the Halloween decorations and head past Oakwood Cemetery. When we get back, you can stick around for dinner and beer or wine.
Run for the Roses (Registration is open!) — Sunday, Feb. 13
Registration is now open for Run for the Roses, one of the oldest 5Ks in the Triangle. The race will take place Sunday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh. Every female finisher receives a red rose in this race, which is now in its 41st year.
