Welcome to NCRC

Welcome to the North Carolina Roadrunners Club, commonly known as NCRC! We're a nonprofit organization that's a member club of the Road Runners Club of America, one of 23 RRCA clubs in North Carolina. We're based in Raleigh, where our club began in 1979 (see the About NCRC tab for more details). NCRC is also a member club of USA Track & Field. NCRC hosts three races each year, ranging in length from 5K to half-marathon, and holds an annual fund-raising event (see the NCRC Races/Events tab for details). Benefits of becoming a club member include race and in-store discounts, a bimonthly online newsletter, and a member rewards program. We also hold social runs and other events throughout the year (see the Calendar tab). All runners and walkers are welcome to join us! March Madness Run (Reynolds and Howling Cow) — March 29

Our March NCRC social run celebrates basketball's March Madness. We'll start the run at 11 a.m. on March 29 from the David Thompson statue in front of historic Reynolds Coliseum on the NC State campus. After a group photo, the run or walk (up to 4+ miles out and back, see link below) will take you through campus on the Rocky Branch Trail to Gorman Street and the Meredith College campus. After returning, we'll head to the Talley Market, next to the coliseum, for Howling Cow ice cream! Wear something in support of your favorite college team. NC State's magical runs last year came after our first March Madness run.

March Madness Run Route

Introducing the NCRC Lugiano Classic on May 11!

Registration will open soon for NCRC's spring race, which has been renamed the NCRC Lugiano Classic in memory of Joe Lugiano, NCRC's first president, who died Dec. 3. The half-marathon and 10K races, now in their 26th year, will be held May 11 with participation by the Lugiano family.
The 10K and half-marathon are USATF-certified “out-and-back” courses that start on paved road, transition through crushed gravel and the hard-packed bridle trails of Umstead State Park, and finish on pavement.
