North Carolina Roadrunners Club

Come Run With Us

Welcome to NCRC
Welcome to the North Carolina Roadrunners Club, commonly known as NCRC! We're a nonprofit organization that's a member club of the Road Runners Club of America, one of 23 RRCA clubs in North Carolina. We're based in Raleigh, where our club began in 1979 (see the About NCRC tab for more details). NCRC is also a member club of USA Track & Field. NCRC hosts three races each year, ranging in length from 5K to half-marathon, and holds two annual fund-raising events (see the NCRC Races/Events tab for details). Benefits of becoming a club member include race and in-store discounts, a bimonthly online newsletter, and a member rewards program. We also hold social runs and other events throughout the year (see the Calendar tab). All runners and walkers are welcome to join us! If you're new to the Triangle, check out Triangle Running Websites under the Resources tab.
Central Children's Home Cross Country Festival
Many of the top cross country runners in North Carolina, of all ages, will be competing on Saturday in the daylong Central Children's Home Cross Country Festival in Oxford, about 40 miles from Raleigh. This NC USATF event will feature adult races in the morning and youth races in the afternoon. USA Track & Field is the national governing body for track, long-distance running, and race walking. In this event, NCRC will be entering men's and women's teams in a couple of the masters (40 and over) age divisions and also have a couple of individual entries. Women's races will be 6K, and men's races will be 8K. There will also be an open 6K race. Prize money will be available for USATF members in individual and team competitions. For more information, click the website link below. There's a link if you're interested in being a race volunteer. You could also come to cheer on our NCRC runners. We'll be meeting for carpooling to the festival at 6:30 a.m. Saturday at the Harris Teeter parking lot at 4221 Corners Parkway in Raleigh (off U.S. 70 near TW Alexander Drive). We'll return early Saturday afternoon.

Raleigh Galloway Pancakes Run — Saturday, Oct. 7
NCRC has traditionally had one annual joint run with the Raleigh Galloway training program. This year, we scheduled two. Due to inclement weather, Saturday's (9/23) planned joint run with Raleigh Galloway from the Fleet Feet store on Six Forks Road in north Raleigh was canceled. The annual Galloway pancakes run, another joint run for NCRC, will take place Oct. 7 at Inside-Out in Cary (check the Calendar listing on this website for details). The Galloway program offers a run/walk structure for your weekly long group runs. These joint runs offer you a chance to check out their program and ask any questions you might have. NCRC has long had a close partnership with Raleigh Galloway, and many of us have participated in the Galloway program.

October NCRC Winery Run — Saturday, Oct. 21
Join us for a new NCRC fall tradition (now in its second year) -- the October winery run in Apex. The Cloer Family Vineyards (8624 Castleberry Road in Apex) opens at 11 a.m. on Saturday, so we'll meet at 10 a.m. on Oct. 21 at the Wimberly Trailhead of the American Tobacco Trail (1017 Wimberly Road in Apex) for our run or walk on the ATT. You can start earlier for additional mileage. Afterward, we'll head over to the vineyards and take a group photo at 11:15 before enjoying a picnic on the grounds. RSVP by Oct. 18 (using the link below to go to the Calendar listing for the event) to receive a free tasting flight of wine or a glass of wine or muscadine grape juice, courtesy of NCRC. Bring picnic food to share, or you can buy food at the winery or from a service like Uber Eats.
