North Carolina Roadrunners Club

Come Run With Us

Welcome to NCRC
Welcome to the North Carolina Roadrunners Club, commonly known as NCRC! We're a nonprofit organization that's a member club of the Road Runners Club of America, one of 23 RRCA clubs in North Carolina. We're based in Raleigh, where our club began in 1979 (see the About NCRC tab for more details). NCRC is also a member club of USA Track & Field. NCRC hosts three races each year, ranging in length from 5K to half-marathon, and holds two annual fund-raising events (see the NCRC Races/Events tab for details). Benefits of becoming a club member include race and in-store discounts, a bimonthly online newsletter, and a member rewards program. We also hold social runs and other events throughout the year (see the Calendar tab). All runners and walkers are welcome to join us! If you're new to the Triangle, check out Triangle Running Websites under the Resources tab.
Cary Christmas Lights Social Run/Walk — Thursday

For this year's NCRC Christmas Lights Run, the Downtown Cary Park will be open! We'll meet first for a photo at the park's fountain (see the Calendar entry on this website for details, including an address and parking information). Then we'll run or walk on routes of 2 or 3 miles and take photos of the fantastic holiday lights in downtown Cary. Afterward, we'll stop for a post-run beer or wine at Cotton House brewery near the park. The brewery's food truck that night is scheduled to be Merkato Cafe Ethiopian. Esther and Mark Dill are leading this event for us.

4th Quarter Adopt-a-Highway — Saturday, Dec. 16
Our final quarterly NCRC Adopt-a-Highway cleanup for 2023 has been scheduled for Dec. 16. NCRC has been keeping clean the 1-mile stretch of Millbrook Road from Shelley Lake to Creedmoor Road since 2002. We'll meet at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 16 in the parking lot of the Sertoma Arts Center on Millbrook Road. Join us for this community service (earn 2 rewards points if you're an NCRC member) and enjoy refreshments and socializing afterward.

Registration Open for 2024 Run for the Roses (New Site)
Registration is now open for the 2024 Run for the Roses 5K, one of the oldest 5Ks in the Triangle! The 43rd annual race, where every female finisher receives a red rose, will be held at a new location, not just for this race but for any race. A new 5K course (course will be posted later) will be created for this Feb. 11 race at the Walnut Creek Athletic Complex at 1200 Sunnybrook Road in Raleigh.

NCRC's annual winter race benefits two veterans-related organizations. This family-friendly race will have two children's races, face painting, and a special rate of $20 for participants under 18 years old. A new feature this year will be an "early bird" rate through Dec. 22.

Registration is also open for race volunteers. Volunteering is a great way to support runners in their races.
