North Carolina Roadrunners Club

Come Run With Us

Welcome to NCRC
Welcome to the North Carolina Roadrunners Club, commonly known as NCRC! We're a nonprofit organization that's a member club of the Road Runners Club of America, one of 23 RRCA clubs in North Carolina. We're based in Raleigh, where our club began in 1979 (see the About NCRC tab for more details). NCRC hosts three races each year, ranging in length from 5K to half-marathon, and holds two annual fund-raising events (see the NCRC Races/Events tab for details). Benefits of becoming a club member include race and in-store discounts, a bimonthly online newsletter, a member rewards program, and the opportunity to join our 1,000 Mile Club (see the 1,000 Mile Club tab for details). We also hold social runs and other events throughout the year (see the Calendar tab). All runners and walkers are welcome to join us! If you're new to the Triangle, check out Triangle Running Websites under the Resources tab.
NCRC First Quarter Meeting — Sunday, Feb. 5
Did you know that a Florida-to-Maine biking and walking/running route goes through the Raleigh area and that the East Coast Greenway is headquartered in Durham? If you want to learn more about this greenway, come to NCRC's first quarter meeting on Feb. 5 for a presentation by greenway representatives. We'll be meeting at Jaycee Park on Wade Avenue in Raleigh, and non-members are welcome (check the Calendar tab for details)! NCRC members who earned their 2022 1,000 Mile Club shirts will receive them at the meeting. We'll also introduce the 2023 NCRC board and preview the upcoming year.
Special Club Member Deals Page
If you join the North Carolina Roadrunners Club, you can get access to special race and store discounts, including new in-store discounts for Omega Sports Raleigh and Bull City Running in Durham. These discounts are listed on our website and are accessible on a single webpage. Anyone can view the discount offers on the Club Deals page under the Resources tab of this website, but you must sign in as a member to access the discount codes and offer details (by clicking on Claim Offer). The in-store discounts require proof of membership, either printed from this website or shown on your smartphone.
Registration Open for NCRC's 2023 1,000 Mile Club
It's not too late to resolve to run and/or walk more in 2023. NCRC's 1,000 Mile Club can help provide the motivation! You must be an NCRC member to participate (sign in as a member to the website before attempting to register). Just keep track of the miles that you run and/or walk each month, and you'll be asked to provide monthly updates. Jadine Lee, our 1,000 Mile Club coordinator, will help keep you on track for your mileage goals. If you total at least 1,000 miles (running and/or walking) by the end of 2023, you will receive a special shirt at the first quarter 2024 NCRC meeting. Registration ends on Feb. 15.

Registration Open for Run for the Roses 5K (New Location)
Registration is now open for the 2023 Run for the Roses 5K, and we'll have a new location! Due to ongoing construction at Dorothea Dix Park, the 2023 race will be held at Carroll Joyner Park in Wake Forest (check out the Calendar listing on this website for the details, including a course map). The race, part of the NC Race Series, will continue its Valentine's traditions of taking place the weekend before Valentine's Day and every female finisher receiving a red rose. We'll also have the same two veterans-related beneficiaries. The registration fee is $10 less for participants aged 18 and younger. Come join us for our winter race, one of the oldest 5Ks in the Triangle!
